Evening all from a chilly Dublin. Heading to Villamartin in a few weeks and driving for the first time in Spain. Arriving around 8pm on a Monday night and already panicking about driving the hire care from Alicante airport. With the kids on board! It is straight forward enough ? Are roads typically quiet ? Tolls ? Going to collect keys for my place so lots to do, hence need the car ! Also has anyone ever used Flamenco Cars for rental ? TIA sinead

Head for the N332, direct road with no tolls, be careful at roundabouts as it's a free for all.

Hi

It was our first time in January. Currently here for a second visit having used centuaro car hire both times. It’s very easy driving. Leave the airport look for signs N332 to Cartagena  it’s then all the way almost to Villamartin. I would advice a sat nav. Unfortunately the Spanish way of postcodes and addresses are different though. Make sure you go over any car you hire with fine detail. Take photos of any existing scratches   The roads don’t seem too busy at all this time of year but haven’t been in summer yet. Hope all goes well

Don't worry, it's easy, just be careful at the roundabouts, as it's different from back home.

I tend to go AP7 and come off at SMDS. No tolls no roundabouts. Bit longer distance but quicker and better drivers

No one on the road either so I’d go AP7 and come off at la zenia..... it’s about 5€ fort the 2 tolls but if you nervous that’s the way I would go, good luck
