Drive to San Miguel and follow the CV95 towards Benijofar and follow directions to AP7. We often take it as there is less traffic. Tolls are La Zenia and Montesinos and then free.
Thanks a lot!

The tolls are c€2.45 out of season and then they go up to around €4.30 from the end of June to beginning of October. Just in time to rip off the tourists!
I have to do the journey on average twice a week, so given there are two each way it can add up to nearly a €20 return journey in the summer.
Avoiding the tolls puts 10 minutes on your journey time. There are a couple of routes you can take, the quickest is through San Miguel, but is the most painful as it has more curves than a page 3 model. The other is up the 332 and cut across by the hospital at Torrevieja. You get on the AP-7 three times. This is just as bad as there are more islands than the pacific!
Just set your sat nav to avoid tolls.
Good luck!

I think the sensus here is its only going to add 10 minutes going up the coast road, if its early morning then I can do the airport in 40 minutes without trying hard 🤷♂️

Hi all - which junction is best to avoid the dreaded tolls - travelling from La Zenia to Alicante Airport, usually N332.
Thanks
Good valid question and as I was interested myself, read through all the answers - it's amazing really isn't it what people put? Here's an analogy to show how ridiculous I found some responses (absolutely no offence intended here, everyones different, and, if the poster has the same amount of free time as the responder then fine, no harm done).
Q/ I was thinking of painting my lounge light blue, can anyone recommend decent paint ?
A/ Why would you paint it blue, it's a lounge not a bedroom?
A/ I once haunted a house that was blue and it always felt cold!
A/ Do it orange
A/ Is it an upstairs house?
A/ Paint seems so expensive and permanent, I use coloured tissue paper and a glue gun!
Nah, sorry - couple of answers seem good to your question, San Miguel de Salinas to Benijofar Rd to AP7 and Torrevieja hospital Rd to AP7 but you would be on the N332 for a wee bit which is the road you were looking for an alternative to - and for good reason. The N332 is getting busier and busier and I've ofter sat there nose-to-tail wondering "why did I come this way" - I'd much rather go a way 10 minutes longer but quieter and still moving - I also love to avoid the tolls, regardless of price - it's like the charge to drop someone at UK airports, I object to this covert method of taxation - fyi - If I'm running you to the airport, you're probably getting out on the motorway or a street near-by, cause I aint paying it.

Use Corvera Airport. 😇
I have used the non toll section of AP7 and the N332 and there is virtually nothing in it, I find the N332 better it is one straight road all the way and after Guardamar no roundabouts.

We have a holiday home in Cabo Roig and always use to use the AP7 but have switched to the 332 for the last year and found it works well and saves money fyi Alicante airport drop off is free for first 10 minutes which is enough time ( just done it)

332 if its not bad...otherwise up through villamartin to san miguel...round the left side and follow to AP7...miss both tolls...yes Ursula fond-of lying says Spain does not have enough toll roads and they are too cheap...prepare to learn the back roads...i guess the AP7 will go toll..for my golf from Catral i can sneak up through san fillipe neri...skirt elche...skirt torrellano...pop out near the airport where my el plantio course is...also good for alicante airport trips...
