From Cherbourg to La Zenia cost around 65 euros in tolls so I would think it would be similar as most of the tolls are in Spain. Look at the website for Via Michelin to plan your route and it will tell you where the tolls are and how much. It is worth paying them to avoid heavier traffic and poorer driving conditions on normal roads as there is less traffic on the motorways.

I'd LOVE to know how on earth you got from Cherbourg to here for only €65, if you used toll roads all the way! Also, I'm surprised you paid any tolls at all in Spain, because it's very easy on the non-toll roads.

The last time I drove from here to the north of France (Calais admittedly) I paid about €150 in tolls, all of which were in France.

Since then I have driven up there several times on non-toll roads - except for the last bit near Calais which I've paid €8 for - and have never paid more than that €8 for the entire journey from here to Calais.

Must say I do it from Dunkirk to Daya Vieja.  No tolls.  Minimum motorway.  3 Days no issues.  Part of holiday.

Tolls all the way from Calais to VM. Don't stopover get here as quick as possible. 28hrs d2d.I have a toll tag for France and I think it's about 80-90e. Then about 20e ish for the Spanish leg.

Hello Geoff. I used the route Calais - Le Mans (stopover), then Le Mans - pamplona (stopover). Before heading down to Costa blanca. How did you avoid tolls in France and was this very much on minor roads?

Regards

Graham

Graham, the greater part of my route uses the N10 trunk road, which is like UK's 'A' roads, and is quite fast. There are also quite a lot of country roads, towns and villages, but lovely scenery in parts.

If you send me a pm with your email address, I will send you a copy of my route notes.

Geoff
