Good Morning

Please can someone adivise I am an irish passport holder living in the UK along with my wife who is a UK citizen with a UK passport .

We intend to spend more time in Spain and are considering taking residency and live in our villa which we have had for over 20 years

My question is should  my wifes pasport be stamped on entery and exit as we may stay more than 90 days before we gain residency?

Also any advice on us gaining residency would be appreciated for both of us .

Many thanks

Can

My situation similar when I retired to Spain in March 2021 as I have an Irish passport and my wife has a UK passport. My "residencia" process was straightforward and my wife's "TIE" application was processed on the back of "apostilled", recently dated marriage certificate. On entry to Spain (Santander) my wife's passport was stamped but not mine. Hope this helps!

Yes to both questions. The residencia appointment took a few weeks and the TIE / Alicante appointment took about two months - from memory. I used Uma Sanz from Get Legal in Spain. Uma is very competent & professional!  https://www.getlegalinspain.com/meet-the-team.html

Good luck! Manus

"Online" service with Reading registry office (where we got married back in 1997!) and I even rang beforehand to double-check the procedure. It was confirmed to me that a new document would be produced (hand written etc) but dated according - not the original 1997 date. As part of the service (cost £11 from memory?), I had this document sent to UK address (in this case, my brother in law) and then forwarded to Milton Keynes office for the apostil service - https://www.gov.uk/get-document-legalised
