Golden visa after brexit

Hi has anyone used the golden visa route as a way to get residency since brexit. We are buying a new build and on reflection are thinking of purchasing the property out right which will be over the 500k needed to qualify.
was just wondering are there any pitfalls or things we need to know in advance and how easy it is to pursue. we have already found out that only one person can apply so the house will be in my wife’s name only, but apart from that everything seems straight forward.
