Irish Passport
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. My grandmother passed away a few year ago, she was born in cork. Would I be able to apply for an Irish passport?
Thanks in advance.
Jason.

I would advise you to read the official guidance contained in the following link. It is not as clear cut as you may think:

Hi I am going through the process now. You have to get Irish citizenship first and once you have that you can apply for a passport. There is a waiting time of between 18 months and 2 years to get citizenship. I have been waiting 15 months so far! I am also doing it as had Irish grandma. You have to send off lots of certificates to prove your connection to your grandmother, eg her marriage certificate, death certificate etc but the Irish website is very clear in terms of what you need to send. Good luck.
