Friend wanted

Hi my mother is 86 and lives with myself and husband. We have lived in Villamartin for 9months and mum only ever goes out with us. It would be good if she could find a friend for coffee mornings etc. She has macular degeneration and her mobility is not the best.She loves listening to music and having a good old chat. Social groups tend to overwhelm her because "everyone talks at once" lol. It would be really good if she could have a friend of her own as she is reliant on us for companionship. She misses her friends from UK. Thanks for reading this post.

I have just seen a post on here saying that Age Concern is reopening on 1 September. I am not sure where around Torreviega it is nor what it does but I vaguely remember someone saying it has regular meetings so might be worth googling?

Prior to lockdown Cheers bar held a ladies coffee morning once a week. It might be worth checking if they have re-instated this. It may be a way for your Mum to meet individuals initially prior to forming friendships. The bar is located at the Bowling club just up the road from Villamartin, past Morgan’s bar.
