Hi guys hoping for some advice and possibly new friends in the long term.

I’m Penny from Cheshire just sold my property in uk and off on a new adventure. Relocating may 31st no idea how or exactly where but this area draws me. Torrevieja looks too busy and I’m a country gal but need a community so have a viewing trip planned early April. Flying by the seat of my pants no real plan in place but obviously being sensible regarding finances. I’m only 50 so have set aside emergency money until I find a business or niche. Any areas I should avoid re my new home ? Just need a small 2 bed with Space outside for the dog. Is there anywhere rural near by ? I’m an ex farmers wife not used to mad busy areas but scared to isolate myself on a mountainside 🙈 I’m a people person but also enjoy my own company. I love to cook and a catering business is something long term I would like but happy to spend 6 months finding my feet and friends before I throw my life savings at something. I have no plans to come over and get rich just have a better more relaxed lifestyle with food in the fridge. Keen to hear anyone’s experiences of starting over. Thanks

It may help if you have a look at Jim's Guides on this site for any queries that you will have.   Also, the Citizens Advice Bureau Spain site may help, and for anything to do with driving in Spain have a look at the N332 site.   The latter is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code.

Just be aware that many provinces and towns 'tweek' national rules and regulations for their own procedures and also that many things may change after the end of this year.
