Spain has been placed on the amber travel list, meaning that unfortunately, it will not be open for leisure travel for the foreseeable future. From 17 May, UK travellers there will need to self-isolate for 10 days on their return to England, plus take a pre-departure and post-arrival COVID test. The UK’s green list will be reviewed by the UK government every three weeks, so Spain could be placed on the green list in the coming weeks or months.
Until 17 May, it is illegal to travel from the UK on holiday overseas, with a penalty of up to £5,000 for anyone caught attempting to do so.
Do I need to quarantine on arrival in Spain?British visitors to Spain don’t need to self isolate on arrival, but will need to show proof of a negative COVID test. This should be taken within 72 hours of departure. PCR, TMA and LAMP tests will all be accepted. All travellers to Spain must show that their journey is essential, which could include for work, education or essential family reasons (check the FCDO advice for more information)

Hi Robert,
Comments by Spain's tourism minister in El Pais suggested that UK citizens "could" travel to Spain from 20 May, possibly without a PCR test, "if" the UK puts Spain on their 'Green' list. As things currently stand, Third Country Nationals cannot enter the EU before 30 May.
Kind regards,
Kim
