Hi, I have been reading the interesting and useful suggestions for getting rid of cockroaches. I have 2 cats and dog. Would all the different suggestions harm my animals. Thanks by the way.

As with any of these types of products they contain chemicals that may be harmful to pets. My suggestion would be to read the instructions and warnings on the product. If they are not in English ask for advice from the shop owner and if needed ask them to translate the warnings.

My score so far this year: 87 confirmed and 4 probable. How's everyone else doing?

What was your final score for the last year, and how is this year in comparison?

Last year it was 173 confirmed. Since March this year, I've clobbered 244 plus 9 probables. The bastards are out in force this year!

trouble with cockies, is they carry egg pods which detatch when clobbered thus guaranteeing their procreation.

I actually did some research on this, including talking with a friend of mine at Colchester Zoo, and I am happy to report that this is an urban myth. Cockys do not eject 50 eggs if you tread on them. They produce egg sacs from their abdomen - which they cannot do if they are dead.

The cocky sprays in Mercadona (and I presume all the others) are essentially nerve agents that render the little shits incapable of movement and, ultimately, breathing. Bloody good it is too!

Next day we are visited by dozens of birds who leave a few wings, legs and heads, but obviously enjoy a roach snack in the morning. There is evidence, apparently, that birds can detect insecticide but consider cocky spray of no real hazard provided the little shit wasn't drowned in it.

Who knows?

All I can say is, continue the fight and enjoy :)

Like what? The barrier sprays are almost useless and the council haven't sprayed our drains in 2+ years.
