In need of aircon, plumber, plasterer, painter

If you purchased through  a solicitor ours kept held back part of the money till she was happy all debts Bills etc associated with the property had been paid because all the debt stays with the property and the new owners are responsible for them I thought this was normal in Spain with property purchases.

So sorry to hear that , did you not get a inventory before hand of what should be staying/included in the sale ? And couldn’t your solicitor have helped , did they not keep any funds aside . Hope you get it sorted soon.

No she doesn’t seem to have kept any funds back !   She is tryi g to get 2000 pounds back at the moment as the money is sitting as a bankers draft to other solicitor.

I had to push to get a inventory done for the one I’m buying, the agent just kept saying she has had a verbal agreement which I wouldn’t except, I had heard  horror stories similar to your own when the buyer had turned up and everything had gone. It’s disgusting that there’s no recourse for this practice. And the vender should definitely pay for any work that you have to have done, especially if you had viewed it in good condition in the first place, were they renting it out before hand? 

It wasn’t rented and remember it being in a state or disrepair.  But tbh didn’t notice how dirty it was with all the furniture in.  Didn’t expect him to leave so much junk.  Even had dog poo bag left on balcony where the was turf grass.  Getting there but exhausted.
