Hi

I'm looking to buy a property in Villamartin though note there are so many - my interest is to then rent out the property - do they rent easily and if so who would be the best service agent to use in the area?

Thanks in advance

Tourist Licence for holiday rental

I think I can remember DaveBev saying that getting a licence in Orihuela Costa takes months at the moment and Torrevieja is much quicker.

Shortage of long term rentals, so if you are looking at that market you won't have any problems finding a tenant.  If you mean holiday rentals then there is plenty of demand but you can only let out a Licensed property.  Be careful - some parts of what looks geographically like Villamartin come under San Miguel de Salinas and not Orihuela Costa.  the different Town Halls take a different approach when dealing with Compatibility Certificates - if you can't get that certificate you cannot apply for your Tourist License.

Your best option would to buy a property that already has the tourist licence in place. No hassle then jumping through all sorts of hoops trying to obtain it.

There is no guarantee that you will be able to get a licence anyway…..you would would then up up stuck with a house that you will be unable to rent out on short-term/holiday periods
