Hi

I’ve received my tourist licence and I now need to go and see the police to register and find out about the tax side.

Is there anyone who will do this part for me or do I need to go myself ? In which case I presume I’ll need a translator ?

Thankyou

You need to attend in person with ID. If the property is in joint names then both of you need to attend with passports, NIEs and the license itself. They will also ask for your keyholder details. They will then issue you with your log in and password for registering your guests' passport details.

Our house is in Playa Flamenca and we had to go to the Guardia Civil in Torre De La Horadada.

You also need to purchase official complaints forms, display the official sign that says you have them, and purchase your official plaque, which can be put inside the property.

Hi Nicola - glad to see your licence has successfully been issued 👍 can I ask you how long the complete process took as my application seems to be dragging on somewhat.....☹️

Just a quick question; if you rent on a long term basis (6 to 12 months). Ie not as a holiday rental do you still need a tourist licence?

No.  But you will need to do it legally with a proper contract etc.

It has taken 8 months so far and as far as I know it’s another month for the police registration 😖

Thankyou for the information. If you have friends or family stay do the police need their information ?

Hi Nicola

If your friends and family are staying free of charge then they are not renting.  However even if they are paying you 'mates rates' then they are renting so you would still need a license and still need to register their details.

Hi Dave, on the form: CONTROL HOSPEDERÍAS GUARDIA CIVIL, there's a field for: FECHA EXPEDICIÓN, what do you fill in for that please?
Thanks.
Chris.

FECHA EXPEDICIÓN is the issue date of the guest's passport.
