Which courier service do readers recommend for a small important package to be sent from UK to a courier collection point in Orihuela Costa. Access to our property is difficult so I want to use the couriers office for collection.

You might get some suggestions re Couriers but remember any items sent from UK (non EU )to Spain are now subject to VAT & Import Tax on top of delivery charges.......some of this payable on delivery.

Try DHL who will organise all the paperwork for you. They also have drivers who will find your difficult to access property, I speak from experience living in the depths of the campo which Correos does not believe exists!
However, be prepared for it to cost an awful lot more than you imagine, due to customs charges etc as stated by Elinspain.

I used DHL end of last year for an A4 envelope. I think it was £45 then but all the others were asking the same and at least DHL is well known
With DHL check their website for the very very long list of items they will not allow through their system it us mind boggling. As other firum members have stated, keep an eye on the costs which they will not tell you as they arecat the mercy of spanish import in Madrid. Very frequently the costs are extreme to say the least.
