I got knocked off my bike yesterday and as my head banging on the road I thought thank god I had my helmet on.

Today I was so surprised to see how many people were riding their bikes without helmets, perhaps they don’t need an helmet as they maybe have nothing up there to protect,🙈☠️

I like the scooters when they ride with the helmet on the handle bars or even sometimes actually on their head but don't fasten it .

I agree they have a rule to themselves it’s a wonder we don’t see them laying all over the road.

Totally agree, you can be the most careful cyclist in the world and still get knocked off your bike and hit your head, due to other peoples actions.

I was on a club ride and there was an accident in front, so I braked just in time to avoid it. Unfortunately a person behind didn't and hit me sending me over my handlebars landing on my head. I hate to think of the damage I would have endured without a helmet.

It amazes me that Chris Boardman did a piece for the BBC not wearing a helmet. Then, when criticised, he tried to defend his actions saying helmets are not a top ten priority for safety.🙄

Glad you survived your accident, a new helmet will be worth the money.

Hi rds1234,  Sorry to hear you got knocked off your bike and banged your head on the road.  Good to hear that you were protected by wearing your helmet.  Medical profession have many times stated that their brain surgery for head injuries work is harder to do (no guaranteed results of a fruitful recovery) and are trying to encourage people to wear helmets.  In some areas it is legal for every cyclist or those riding a scooter to wear a helmet.  If not, you pay a heavy fine.

I agree, I now see more people without helmets, 4 yesterday had helmets hanging of the handle bars,
