If your gas boletín has expired, then you'd be better playing safe and asking Repsol or Cepsa, as appropriate, who they would reccomend to do the inspection.

We have had our gas inspected and certificated twice - once early last year (when we had a single butane bottle connected), and again 2 days ago (we recently installed central heating, switched from butane to propane, and now store a higher volume of gas).

We use CEPSA, but on each occasion a licensed contractor did the inspection (the same company and technician each time).

The inspection cost 59 Euros last year and 63 Euros this week.

The company supplied and fitted some materials on each occasion, at extra cost.

The inspection came with a numbered document - a "Certificado de Instalacion Periodica", which included a line diagram of our gas installation (Croquis de la Instalacion y Componentes) and a list of connected appliances. The certificate was stamped and signed by the contractor.

Hello

I’m interested in this thread as I’m now wondering if I need a gas certificate.

We bought our house in February and I don’t recall any paperwork for gas. We have mains gas for the boiler, which is for the hob and heats the water.

If this is something I need to look into, could a helpful person let me know!

Many thanks

Gill

You definitely need one, Gill. If you ever needed to claim on your insurance as a result of a gas related problem, then not having a boletín would give them grounds to reject your claim.

That’s what I was thinking - many thanks for the confirmation Jim! I’ll get onto it right away.

If anybody is considering installing a gas system I have one complete less boiler for 400 Euros.  Includes 8 x 35 kilo propane bottles, changeover valve, and approved type bottle housing.

I have an open "coal effect" Propane gas fire in my Living Room. The gas to this is from a Gas Bottle which is located outside to the side of the house , and is via a fixed Propane Double Regulator with a Connector Isolating valve which fits directly on the Bottle, and supplies gas via purpose made hoses and connectors to the let down at the Regulators, and from there through fixed copper piping to the Gas Fire, with another Isolating Valve before the Fire. Having read the various replies regarding the Boletin, I would presume this type of installation requires periodic inspection. Is this correct, and can this be arranged by the Cepsa Office in San Pedro del Pinatar, from whom I arranged for the purchase of my other Bottles ( Butane), which I use for my portable heater and Barbecue. ( Photos of the Propane Installation attached)

You're correct. Any gas installation other than an external barbecue needs a five yearly inspection. Either ask at the office for details of an authorised technician, or ring 914 416 416.
