We recently bought 2 recliner chairs from the large furniture shop in La Zenia Boulevard

the shop located above Primark within a few days of delivery we had to have them replaced due

to structure faults. Now the material is starting to give way we went back to the store and

their response was wear and tear due to chair rubbing up against wall. The chair is looked after and nowhere wall so nothing can be done. These chairs are made of man made material and were 600 euros the pair so not cheap . They are only 6 months old so what do we do now?

Any suggestions

If you recline the chair and the hole is not scraping any other part of the furniture I would have to say it has happined in the house possably something rubbing on it when in use the hole its self wont get any larger by its self on the back of chairs there is little movement so the fabric would sit for years without changing it's when it's under pressure I.e arm pads  seats that move all the time that it could get worse if this is accidental damage the store wont help you but u will be covered under your house insurance under accidental damage

Hope this helps mack

Not all Spanish policies include accidental damage. I am with Linea Directa and the only accidental damage included is to fixed glass in furniture, windows, sanitaryware, ceramic hobs etc.
There is also this exclusion clause:  "Damage due to a defect, inherent vice or inadequate conservation of the building or goods insured."
It is almost certain that this damage would be considered as inadequate conservation of the chairs as it does look as if the back has scraped on something when being reclined.

There was a bar on the seating area, so when you sat down it dug into your butt on both chairs
