Has anyone changed Doctors at the SHS Cabo Riog Medical Centre? If so how easy was the process?
Anything you know now you wished you had known at the start of the process.

I think the process is relatively easy. Ask for a form to change your doctor at Reception. Filling the form is pretty straightforward, too.
Each time you have to see your doctor, might it be worthwhile asking to see an alternative one (if they allow this) so you get to know who is available to you and to choose rather than being assigned one.

Thanks, the reason I want to change is I saw a different Doctor from the one assigned to me as mine was not available.
When I went back for the results of some blood tests and saw my own Doctor I asked her what to expect when I went for my appointment at the hospital it was clear they had not even bothered to read my notes.
To say I have lost faith in my own Doctor is an understatement.

From our experience a doctor doesn't look at patient notes or blood test results etc until the patient asks them to. Ref blood tests, which we have every six months, the doctor then tells us which results are outside acceptable limits and, if considered necessary, prescribes medication. She also gives us a copy of the blood test results, which I enter onto a table of previous results, so I can keep tabs on which way different reading are trending.
We originally had different doctors, but as we usually go together, I asked reception if I could change to my wife's doctor. The receptionist checked with both doctors that this was OK, without any form required, and changed me over.

Thanks Jim, the first Doctor I saw did an ECG as I seem to have developed a heart problem, so they have put me down to get a 24 hour ECG at hospital, so when I went to my own Doctor about the test results the first Doctor arranged I asked my Doctor what to expect when I went for the 24hr ECG, it was clear my own Doctor was unaware i had recently presented with a heart problem, very disconcerting.
