Change your doctors

When I changed Drs a few years ago it was difficult. I had to complete a form at reception, couldn't choose who I wanted and had to give a valid reason.

 I was told the old Dr had to acknowledge the request then I would be notified of the new one allocated to me.

 I would like to think they have updated this  a bit since then,

Hi, I changed doctors at our surgery (Quesada), and the process was as stated above, but didn't need current doctor's approval (think that's going a bit far!).

I have just been told (by chiropodist) that I have same problem, and to see my doctor as they can give you medication that is really helpful for this (don't know the name, but is usually given to diabetic patients). You could look it up on Google, and go back and request it. Either way, best of luck.

If you're refering to Dr Svetlana then Iam surprised 1) That she's still there 2) Has any patients left 3) Hasn't been struck off!!

Solicitud de libre elección de médico, enfermería o centro sanitario - Everyone has the right to change their doctor or nurse, it is Spanish law, and you can also change medical centre as long as you stay within your health area. Cabo Roig makes it very difficult for you to change. You can fill in a form and do it online if you have a digital  certificate. You can also fill in the form and send it from Correos. There is no need to ask for permission to change and they should not refuse a change although I know that they do down at Cabo Roig. It is a simple procedure and once you send it to Generalitat Valenciana it will be done.

System is still the same..I tried filled out the form but nothing ever happened

You have the right to change. If you filled in the form and gave it to the medical centre at Cabo Roig they might have ignored it. If you do the request online or send it from correos your doctor will be changed. I know because I did it after they refused and told me that I had to get permision from the doctor to change. Absolute rubbish. I think one of the doctors there doesn't want more people changing and tries to force people into staying.
