Hi

Does anyone have nosebleeds during the night due to aircon.  I arrived two weeks ago and have had two.  They only last for half a minute.  Was looking up causes on google and aircon was suggested ?  I find it too warm to sleep without it.

Hi Frances

I would really go to see a doctor instead of googling synthomps, since nose bleeding can be caused by different conditions (high blood pressure is one of the most common), so if I was you I would get checked what is causing the bleeding in your case.

Me too - i suffered from random nose bleeds a few years ago, was down to high blood pressure and rectified by a course of tablets at the time. I was going through a very stressful period in my life at the time, and drinking too much (?!), which contributed to the high blood pressure - all fine now and i haven't had a random nose bleed since!

I sincerely doubt that the air-con would be the primary source of your nosebleeds, as Delilah has advised I would seek medical advice, and not go by anything on Google - even though it does give a good range of causes

Hopefully it is something simple, and you will soon be back to normal 👍

Hi

thanks for replying.  Yes I plan to go when back in UK if not resolved but will be a while as back to quarantine for two weeks so hence the google in the meantime.

I regularly take my blood pressure at home so don’t think it will be that and don’t have more than a couple of glasses of wine.

i bought some saline basal spray in the meantime to see if that helps as will do no harm.

A lot of people have the aircon on minimum temperature - 16 degC in our case, which is far colder than really required for sleep. Have you tried setting the temperature higher - perhaps 20 degC?

Referring to the other answers, at least you could eliminate the aircon as a possible cause.
