We live in villamartin and have our residency status and padron, how do we go about getting our sips cards.

We put in a request for our lawyer to do it for us and paid him but after 9 months we still haven't got them, so looks like we'll have to do it ourselves.

We have the  s1 forms  from Newcastle, what do we do now ?

Thanks for any help

Robert

Found this on http://www.abacoadvisers.com/spain-explained/spanish-law/news/how-become-resident-in-s

The SIP

With your residencia and padrón you are now able to apply for your SIP card. This is the health card which will entitle you to health treatment and discounted prescription charges as part of the national health service in Spain.

In order to obtain this very important little card you need to book an appointment at your local social security office. There you will need to show:

  • Your NIE
  • Passport
  • S1 - if you are a pensioner
  • Padrón
  • Application form TA1

They will then give you a registration number and with this you can go to your local health clinic and obtain the SIP card itself.

Once you have your residencia, padrón and SIP, you will have acquired the basic documents you need to live as a resident in Spain. The sooner you have these in your possession the sooner you can relax and enjoy the new life you’ve chosen.

I’m not a resident myself and I’m sure you’ll get plenty of replies......good luck!

Thanks, YL, beat me to it.

The TA 1 is here:

http://www.seg-social.es/prdi00//groups/public/documents/binario/365.pdf

You can fill it in online, then print and/or download it.

INSS offices are usually open 9.00 - 2.00.

There's one in Torrevieja at C/ Urbano Arregui, 8. Also one in Orihuela at C/ San Agustín, 20.

You'd get prompter attention with an appointment, but the online system for this doesn't seem to have an option to specify the preferred office or to select allocation of a SIP number. It looks like you'll have to take a turno (deli ticket) from the dispenser and wait your turn.

If you don't want to take an interpreter, then just say something like 'siento molestarte, pero queremos solicitar la asignación de números de seguridad social', and shove all the documents across the desk.

Good luck!

Not at all, love, I just supplemented what you'd said. You saved me time posting all the details.

I may have beaten you to it, but I've spent most of the day round at a friend's sorting a computer problem.

Us northeners always seem to help one another, whereas (dare I say it?) southerners often seem to just take, not give.

It would help to know your name (?).

Ooo Jim you could have opened a right can of worms there😂. I always find us Northerners inquisitive or maybe just plain nosey....but whatever we are,we are definitely a friendly helpful lot!
