Hi.

I have been receiving these benefits from the UK for the past 10 years due to my

present medical conditions. Nothing too drastic arthritis, walking difficulties etc.

We recently completed this years tax returns and the advisor recommended that we apply to the Spanish social services to claim these benefits from Spain instead of the uk government.

At present the uk are happy to keep paying these benefits knowing full well we live in Spain full time.

Has anyone advice on this situation, should we start the application to claim from the Spanish government or leave thing as they are and let the uk government keep paying me. We are both retired and do not work.

As far as I understand the rules PIP is only payable if living in an EEA country or Switzerland which you won't be after (if!) UK leaves the EU so if switching to Spain is indeed an option then logically it would seem a sensible move.

The question is will their largesse survive post Brexit and that nobody can guarantee!

My husband has been told by the UK that if you have not worked in Spain then you are entitled to still claim from the UK even if you live in Spain, but not if you have worked in Spain.
