Physiotherapist and Psychologist

Hi all,

My Husband and I are moving to Costa Blanca. I am a UK Psychologist and physiotherapist who specialises in neurological rehab (strokes, Parkinsons, MS etc), Oncology physiotherapy as well as Pain management/education. I am also a CBT practitioner and Life Coach. Would there be scope for me to set up as a business in CB? Although english I do also speak basic spanish and would like to offer physiotherapy and psychology services to the community to include exercise classes. As ex-Paramedic I feel I have a lot to offer. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards, Janine

Without fluent Spanish I think you'll find it very difficult to set up as an entrepreneur which is the visa you'd need for your plan.

You'd probably have a better chance of finding a Spanish employer to offer you a position because they will apply for a work visa on your behalf but even then without a good command of the language that will be a high bar to cross.

Hi Darro,

Thanks for info. Sorry I should have clarified..... We already have Residencia so we don't require visas. I speak Spanish too.

I also wonder if, despite your impressive qualifications, you would have to register with the Spanish medical authorities, if they will accept uk degrees.

Yes I am registering with Spanish Physio board which is straight forward process.
