Hi my wife and I are emigrating to Spain in July. We will have medical insurance as required for our NLV visas but wonder how we will get our prescribed medications as most if the health plans do not cover existing conditions and ailments.

Can anyone give me advice on prescribed medicines and obtaining them?

Many thanks

Lenny

You will need to see the GP, their will be a list on your private health insurance.

They can prescribe your medication for you.

But the bad news …………..you will have to pay the full cost of any prescribed medication.

Depending on the type of medication you may be able to buy it over the counter and avoid having to see a GP. Take your UK prescription in to a Farmacia and see what happens.
You can do a bit of research now by asking google "Can I buy xxxxxx over the counter in Spain."  You can find prices as well and they are often surprisingly cheap.
