Does anyone have any advice as how home insurance is calculated?
Is it dearer in different areas?
We are purchasing and have a 2 bed mid terrace bungalow, any rough ideas on how much this would be?
Many thanks

Budget around 150e per year. Don't under any circumstances buy it through your bank. You will get your hat nailed on

We have not asked the bank, our solicitor quoted 300€ which we thought a bit high so we are shopping around.

I went with the same company that insures the community. It was cheaper as they didn’t need to cover things that were were already covered in the group policy. It was about €50 cheaper than the quote from my bank.
Check with your community administrator to see if you can do this.

My bank wanted 105 euros more than the open market. Bank quoted 255e. Policy purchased elsewhere for 115e

Thanks for that. It's due for renewal in January so I will make enquiries before that.
