Hi All

We are about to complete our first property purchase in the Villamartin area, can anyone give us some advice about property insurance please ?

There are many 'high street' insurance brokers about much like it used to be in the UK 25 years ago offering personal services, also banks offer all insurance services.

Shop around and annoyingly you will find the same policy offered by different brokers at different prices, a lot of brokers here like to have all of your business house, car, etc and discounts can be negotiated here.

Check with your bank then a few calls to local brokers will give you an idea of what's available at the best price. Cheapest isn't always best.

Our bank Sabadell offered to drop charges if we used them for our house insurance. We wanted to use Jennifer Cunningham who is the cheapest in this area, but the bank had us by the short and curlies, sadly!

Hi

We got our insurance through Magellan in LA Fuente (Villamartin), although the actual insurer is Ibex (Gibraltar)

I can't promise that they're the cheapest, but we had to make a claim just a few weeks ago and they paid out without any hassle.

I only have an online bank account with Wise so I'll take a look at Jennifer Cunningham, thanks

Carefully read the smallprint with special attention to what is excluded/not covered, You'll be amazed about what they promise and what you (don't) get.
