Hi all.

Although I have already posted a few questions in different parts of the forum I thought we should introduce ourselves.

My wife Tracy and I are in our early 50s and are moving across from the UK this October. We have an initial 3 month rental arranged in Verdemar III to enable us to decide where we want to settle permanently and whether we are going to buy or rent on a long term basis.

Many thanks to everyone on this forum for all the posts you have made since it was set up and to the people who set it up in the first place - I have spent hours reading through the site and it has been incredibly useful.

One of my main interests is Golf. I am an enthusiastic rather than talented player and am hoping to find some fellow enthusiasts in the area who I can hopefully join in a round or two. I would also like to find out if there are any local societies I could potentially join and bring along friends from the UK when they come to visit.

Tracy is also keen to develop new interests and meet new friends.

So, all suggestions for any local clubs, societies, events / pastimes / quiz nights (something we both enjoy) that will help us integrate and settle in will be very gratefully received.

Many thanks

Clive

Hi Clive  and Tracey

I've just bought a holiday home in Cabo Roig and looking to spend as much time there as I can.  I posted a few weeks ago about meeting up with ppl in Cabo Roig and have a few ladies interested in getting together .  If Tracey wd like to be included (and anyone else for that matter !) then message me and we can swap mobile numbers and arrange a coffee or something with the other ladies when you come over in October .    Is this near to where you are looking btw?

Good luck with your move and new adventure !!

Hi Jenny.

That sounds great. We will only be up the road in Villacosta so just a short drive to Cabo Roig. I'll PM you now.

Hi Clive and Tracey

Hubster and I live in Sevilla urb, close to Verdemar. We are early retirees and have been here 2 1/2 years and love it.

There is lots to do and we are all a friendly bunch. You are ideally situated for La Fuente commercial centre for drinks and meals out. Lots of golf courses to choose from. Great quizzes around. Tuesday at Royal Oak, Thursday at Marinasol, Cabo Roig and Friday at Drivers Bar.

Happy to meet up when you are here in October and answer any of your queries.

Exciting times ahead!

Tracey & Steve

Hi Clive, I retire late September and my wife and I will be in Spanish house in Pau 8 Villamartin from then until mid November.

We are actually here in Spain now and it’s gorgeous.

We are relatively close to Verdemarcand almost bought a house on this wonderful, cpmplex Like  you I am a keen but challenged golfer with a high handicap, but a love for the game and the sociability it brings, playing around with other patient golfers.

We have had a holiday home in Villamartin for 3 years now and plan to spend a lot more time here now I have taken early retirement from September onwards  We are both in our mid 50’s but young at heart.

If you and Tracy fancy getting together in late September or early October for a    coffee or an “adult beverage, we can chat about what we have learned about the Costa Blanca South, the areas to live, beaches , places of interest, walks, eateries, entertainment and golf courses and perhaps arrange to play around sometime in October.

Look forward to hearing from you both.  Ian and Susan Rose

Hi, we have a holiday home in Playa Flamenca and are over a lot.  Mark likes to play golf and I would like to find some female company to socialise with while he does, so keen to get involved in anything social.  We are over for 3 weeks in June, but usually once a month throughout the year.  Be good to meet everyone.  Ruth and Mark

We have just got keys for our place in la florida not far away. We researched the area for 5 yrs before buying.

We are planning to come over about 5times a year at the moment.

My hubby loves playing golf and has joined Clarke's bar society who play every Thursday.

I have tried once but I'm useless. So I'm left on my own whilst he tries to play

Pm me if you would like to get together we are over for all of june
