Good Day to everyone who reads this..

My Wife and I Bought a property In Torrevieja three years ago, We renovated the property and decided that it was time to take the plunge and Move to Spain Full time....

We have been here 8 x months and have already decided to move..  We thought the job opportunities may have been greater in Torrevieja? And the work I had planned to do on the computer Daily has Fallen badly in The Covid19 and so we are looking at starting to spend into our small savings... Which was not panned for at all

Having found out that we are not 100% happy we bought a place in Las Filipinas/Villa Costa (Villa Martin)  We are hoping to move around June.. Contracts are signed, we just have to wait for things to progress

In the UK I had my own Company selling & Fitting Blinds & Flooring in and around Woodhall Spa Lincolnshire,  which was successful and I had a super customer Base! My Wife was a Pre school Teacher and then moved into the Care Sector, Looking after and helping the elderly, Going for walks, Shopping, Cleaning, Gardening, Generally helping out Etc..

I am putting the feelers out to see what the need is in this area for me to start a business?  It would be general Maintenance, Painting, Cleaning, Dog Walking, Gardening, Power Washing, 24Hour Key Holding (Fully Secure), Swap over holiday Lets, It would also include my wife being Available to Shop for people or to spend an hour a day just even having someone to spend time with?

We are both very Caring Passionate people who love meeting with new people and helping in any which way we can...

If a business of this Nature is already in place and no Room is there for another then that's fine...

If anyone knows of any work or would like a chat to us then please drop me a DM, We would like to hear from anyone with regards

Would be great to hear back from lots of people and thank you for taking the time to read

Best

Gav & Jules

Hi....I think it would take a fair amount of time to build up a customer base and there are so many people at it........some good, some bad and some terrible. As you will no doubt be aware its all about the money and standard of work.

There is something that I think would be a good idea but it needs to be right.

Good luck in your adventure.

Not wanting to teach my grandmother to suck eggs, but presume you are aware of the fiscal/legal requirements if you are intending to set up any kind of business here, no matter how small. Unless you are employed full time on a contract, you would need to register as autonomo - self employed - which immediately brings you into the requirements to pay social contributions (although there are reductions for a period for new businesses),  even in months where your earnings may not be very high, tax for which you will have to employ a gestor and so on. The Spanish authorities are Starting to clamp down dramatically  on those trying to avoid this and working for ‘cash’  and the fines for so doing can be swingeing. They may also fine your Clients for being complicit in this.

There are already many firms offering these kinds of services, and, unless you speak at least conversational Spanish, your client base if of necessity going to be the expat mainly British community; many of whom are pensioners on restricted incomes. And there are of course, many, many, perfectly legal, honest and efficient Spanish companies with whom you would be competing.

Sorry, but unless you have some in-demand professional skill set, making any form of living. Is very, very difficult here; there is already huge unemployment.

Good Evening..

I do appreciate your reply

I am used to owning a business and wouldn't ever cheat the system by using Cash payments only..

I more just wanted to put it out there to see if any toes were being trodden on or to hear peoples thoughts? There are many business thoughts that I am having and I will always seek a market audience before I start such a venture...

With regards to Employment.. There are massive unemployment figures around, I will agree, But sometimes somebodies skill sets can match a job and Gain them a job whist 10 other people haven't got the skill set needed, Hence whilst I also asked that question...

I look forward to Getting Moved to the new area and hopefully Catching a few people about and gaining a new friends circle

Best
