We are a couple from Canada.  We came last year to the area and really liked the area and the housing options.

We are spending a week this summer in a Villamartin in order to get a sense of what it is like to live in the area.  I would appreciate suggestion of what we should do.  We want to check out the local food, restaurant scene, gyms and other activities.

We love all sports.  While we have a passion for football, we are happy to convince everyone that hockey is a great sport too.  Just finished watching the Toronto Raptors go on to the Eastern Conference championship in the NBA!  Go Raptors!

Winter can be a totally different ballgame when many properties are empty.

Hi, I live in Torre de la Horadada, and have done so for the last 19 years. I would recommend this to live in as it has all the facilities one needs. Pilar de la Horadada is our main town which is only 5 or 10 minutes away. This whole area is an ideal place to live, close to the sea with beautiful beaches and restaurants. This area has all the sporting facilities one wants right on your doorstep so to speak. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any further information. Regards Len.

Suggest you also check out the Mar Menor coast. Smaller towns, more authentic Spanish feel (if you are selective), good sailing year-round. But it can't match Toronto for street-cars, propane taxis and that annual Indycar race.
