Hi Katielou,

You may want to move the post to general discussion as its come up as a reply to your first post about a job.

Have a read through the guides of how to use the forum and once you've done it a few times you'll find it pretty easy.

As for finding a job as you may expect it's really tough at the moment in all sectors. I have been here 17 years and working until I was about to start a new job just as the lockdown happened on 13th March. Since then I've sent of dozens of emails, WhatsApps and applications but most have let staff go and not taking on more, hence I've been unemployed since then but still trying.

I can only suggest that you search every Avenue of employment,  contact all the places even if they aren't advertising as you may get lucky, I managed to bag a couple of jobs like that. Just be prepared to be unemployed for quite a while and I wish you all the luck :)

Hi thanks for the heads up. Can I ask do you get any financial support over here if out of work?

The short story is that if you haven't been working and paying into the social security system for a certain length of time you aren't entitled to anything. If you have recently arrived from the UK and are not resident you won't be entitled to any financial help.

If you go onto sites like CAB Spain and Google your question you'll have more up to date info.

Also look on the tabs at the top of the page and search for what you're looking for.

Good luck and hope all goes well for you.
