Hello my name is Andrew I am oozing for a job as a hairstylist in an upmarket salon I have a lot of experience working in London Mayfair for one of the most elite hairdressers in the world and many more salons including bond Street regent Street and Kensington High Street

I am looking for self employed autonamo

I am excellent at my colouring skills and hair cuts

If anyone has a position please let me know as im due very soon to come to Spain and live

I have the correct paperwork to work and live so this is not a problem

Salon does not have to be in villa Martin as long as the salon is busy and proffesional and does not charge low prices

Before you settle, make your research. Many places are seasonal and don't charge "high prices". Google hair saloons in your area and check, what they are charging. My hairdresser worked in one of London's supersaloons, now he is very busy. Sometimes I wonder, if he eats and sleeps. His prices are average =affordable to his clients.

Might  be  better  off  trying  Marabella  aa  a  lot  of  People  from  most  parts  of  Europe  are  living  on  a  fixed  income,  in  Costa  Blanca South 👍   area  like  pension   and  might  not  have  cash  to  spend  on  Expensive  Hair style, you  might  find  some  Hairdressers  are just  about  keeping  head  above  Water

There are 2, that I know of, "upmarket" hairdressers near me. Both are pretty empty when I go past whereas the "reasonable" ones mainly require appointments. Same with restaurants and the high end furniture stores.

Please do your homework first to see if your preferred customer base will actually work in this area. Maybe somewhere like Madrid (or Paris, or Milan etc) would be like that and you may have a clientele like that here but not from what I've observed. It's not as if this area has opera houses or film premieres where people would spruce up a bit in their finery.

My upmarket English qualified hairdresser charges half of what I used to pay in UK salons, for cut, colour, blow dry etc approx 55 eu as opposed to, several years ago, 120 sterling in uk. You need to research areas with high wealthy foreign populations, which description would not apply to many of the British here!

Do you really want to be an autonomo? Check out what's involved, how many tax returns you have to submit, what your healthcare costs will be, and make sure you have a good gestor or accountant to help you. It's not at all like being self employed in the UK.

Alicante, Valencia, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Sotogrande, Madrid, Barcelona but not Costa Blanca South or Orihuela Costa. As mentioned, you really need to be employed because being autonomo here is a right faff and expensive, nowhere near as easy as hiring a chair in UK.
You need to do a bit more research and find out where lots of very rich people live if you want anywhere near your expected income but then, of course, you will be paying more for accommodation.
If in or near Villamartin is your only option then you need to lower your sights drastically.

Oh dear. I think you need to take the rose tinteds off and re-evaluate your plans. You will never earn that sort of top-end money here. Never.

Most people here are on a fixed income (pensions) and benefit from the relatively low cost of living compared to the UK.

Personally, I've never paid more than 14 euros for a haircut. My girlfriend never pays more than 50 euros. You ain't gonna get Bond Street rates here. Maybe down towards Fuengirola you'll have more luck.

Hi Andrew,

Please research what area where  you decide to settle. I travel back to UK for my hair as I have found it difficult to get a good colour and cut. There are women here who will pay for a top stylist but won't be regular customers if your prices are too high. I pay 95 pounds for my highlights every 6 weeks and then add on my flight (ryanair)and come back 2 days later. If you are priced around the same price I might consider (160£).
