Hello everyone.

This is my first post on the site. I’m travelling to Torrevieja next week for a week to look into property prices and things to do. I prefer to do this rather than internet searches as I always feel first hand experience is the best. I’m hoping to buy somewhere and use it as a base with a view to retiring out there in 18 months when I will be 57 and plan to retire. I’ve hired a car for the week and would be grateful for any contacts of expats in the Villamartin area that could spare me a few hours to give me the lowdown one to one (I’ll happily buy the coffees!

Good luck Mike. This is the best way to get to know the area. Cut the agents out and do your own research. You  will not go wrong following this approach

Hi mike

There a few things to consider if buying in villamartin and main one is if you will have a car. We bought 3 years ago and don’t drive so rely on this bus which is great but it stops quite early and only works on weekends in July and August. It means for shopping it’s either taxis which can rack up costs or working your day around it. I’ve no problem with it but on hot days ice cream and frozen stuff means taxi is only option.

Unfortunately I’m not there at the minute but private message if you have any queries-it’s a lovely area and people are very friendly

Deirdre
