Can anyone share advice on buying/using an electric BBQ? We are not able to use a traditional BBQ on our apartment terrace due to community rules and restricted soace

Have you permission for an electric BBq?
Spanish law prohibits any activity that causes "annoying, unhealthy, harmful, or dangerous" conditions. If your BBQ creates excessive smoke or odors that bother your neighbors, they can file a formal complaint and the police can force you to stop.
Your specific building's Estatutos (community bylaws) may have a strict ban on all BBQs or limit them to certain floors (e.g., penthouses only).
Many town halls ban charcoal and wood BBQs during the summer months due to extreme fire risks. If grilling is permitted, open flames must usually be kept at least 5 meters away from the nearest neighbor's windows or doors.
Cooking on a terrace in a block of flats can be quite dangerous regardless of the type of power. Also not very nice for those around the terrace or balcony. Maybe something like a George Foreman grill (there are plenty of other makes here) but confined to your kitchen.

We had for thirty years in uk a built in electric barbecue, in the kitchen, which used lava stone, not charcoal. The fumes were extracted by a ‘downdraft’ extractor in the worktop, and still spread everywhere. Here we have a built in Teppan Yaki ie more or less a plancha, but as, because of construction difficulties, cannot have full extraction, we have a down draft recycling system. We live in a very small group of houses in the campo, a long way from anywhere, and our vecinos still know what we have had for breakfast or supper!
The appliances themselves are extremely efficient but it is still the ‘smoke’.

I bought a Ninja Woodsmoke one last year as well it’s brilliant I have to say
Charcoal really is the proper one but messy these days for me Ninja clean in few minutes, great food results

Does anyone else think this pathetic?
And are these laws actually enforced?
Personally, I suspect not.
I asked El Presidente in my area about fitting aircon and his answer was "why are you asking me?"
Leroy Merlin told me I should ask permission.
Obviously, if you're affecting your neighbours, you just shouldn't do it.
But perhaps I'm harking back to the days where we just had common sense.

Yes have checked the community rules - hence it can’t be a traditional BBQ
PS I very much hope there will be no flames with an electric BBQ

Thanks but a solid fuel grill would not be allowed where we are
