Can anyone recommend: to look at my air conditioning unit

Hi,

I am looking for someone to look at my air conditioning unit , we have hot/cold system , but we think the cold is not functioning properly.Would this mean the unit needs gassing up, if so we are coming out Tuesday , any ideas & recommendations would be appreciated

Hi Dickie

Don't let someone just re-gas your unit. If it has lost gas you need to find the leak before you put more refrigerant in or you may as well just grab your handful of Euros and throw them in the air! Better still, donate them to the UKH4H appreciation society, which I will happily accept a donation for!

In all seriousness, you need a trusted professional, one who is EU registered to legally work on F-Gases.

There have been many questions and responses about AC on the forum, if you do a search at the top right-hand side of the forum, I am sure you will be inundated with threads to read.

I would hope that whoever attended would go through a series of fault-finding situations before assuming it is a gas problem!

There could simply be a filter issue or perhaps a reset required.

If you have an Inverter unit (supplies hot and cold air) then check if it provides heat....if it does it's not a gas issue. These unit use the refrigerant gas to provide heat by working in reverse. The gas isn't just for cooling.
