Residencia cancelled - anyone else?

Had our appointment booked for us 3 months ago for this Friday in Alicante. All ready to go ahead, paid 12 months insurance, paperwork prepared, funds in the bank and partner flying back tonight to Spain from the uk where he is working.

To be told today that the appointment has been cancelled. Disappointed is an understatement.

Has anyone else heard of this ? Apparently they are not taking any new bookings again.

Nicola that is disgraceful. You both must be so very annoyed and disappointed. Did they give you a valid reason for the short notice cancellation, and why they cannot reschedule it for you considering you did have an appointment given to you three months ago.

"Has anyone else heard of this ?"

I warned members about this over three months ago:

https://www.costablancaforum.com/area/almorad%C3%AD-spain-11/residency-in-almorad%C3%AD-padron-residencia-passport-advice-23/jims-tip-residency-appointments-change-of-procedure-56322/

It is still possible in some areas to get an appointment by going along and asking.

Hello Lana, thanks for your input on this but could you tell us if you are from the UK please and where your appointment was?

Yes it was a ‘professional’ so I presumed all would be in order rather than a 2 day notice of cancellation.

Thanks Lana, it seems you have the magic touch as so many people are struggling  and the online system, as per the legendary Jim, is not offering appointments. Did you use a professional, online system or make the appointment in person? Sorry to ask so many questions but this could really help a lot of people.

Hi Kim,

Lana posted stating she had succeeding in obtaining Residentcia, just recently,. I think she may have said it was in Playa Flamenca . She said it had all gone smoothly.

Cheryl asked for more information on how she had gone about it.

Lana has since, deleted her post.

Cheers !

Thanks Les, I was beginning to doubt myself there. If the post was deleted, maybe it wasn't Residencia at all, possibly NIE or Padron, it sounded too good to be true.
