Hi guys

I’m currently over on a 2 week break and I’m completely shocked at the state of the roads , I know they have been bad for a while and because of the state of them being dangerous I thought these would be prioritised, not a bit of it, the road manual de falle ( the road running along side the golf course outside verdimar 1V right the way up to the T junction at the end ) also as anyone would know the road through the arch leading to the Meradona is bloody dangerous to the extreme, anyone with a hire car must be ultra careful to avoid damage, dosent anyone complain about these roads and if they do who should we write to?

Are you aware that we had horrendous rain for three to four days over Easter that caused widespread damage to the road network and workmen are working to prioritise the worst sections for repair.

I’m very aware , I also stated the roads were in an awful state BEFORE I came over ( have you seen the state of the road as you go through the arch? It’s been bloody dangerous for a very long time and I mean years and nothing gets done about it

Have you registered your complaint at the Town Hall or taken any other action to report the issue as giving off on the Forum will not reach the right people.

No I haven’t as that’s what I’m asking on the forum..... by the way if I sounded irate I apologise but I wouldn’t know how to go about registering a complaint as I’ve never had to before

The reason I’m saying it’s dangerous as someone was driving in front of me today and they swerved out into the oncoming lane to avoid the massive potholes and just avoided a collision, the passing driver stopped and wanted to fight but he drove off...... this happen again no doubt about it

If you are in Villamartin I would suggest that you go to the Playa Flamenca Town Hall down from the Mercadona Supermarket, if you cannot register a complaint there hopefully they can steer you in the right direction.

Hi Kevin, just to let you know that you speak for many. Unless you live in Orihuela Costa or visit regularly, you wouldn't realise how dangerous the state of the roads are. Other areas might be a lot better but nearly every road here is in a dreadful state. The council are obviously aware of this, as it has been well reported in the local press. As usual, it all comes down to money, and the Orihuela Costa is not given enough funds. With so many new properties being built, there needs to be something done soon.

For years it has been common knowledge that Orihuela Council gets millions from Expats but directs the money to projects in Orihuela City rather than to the Costa.
