Non resident tax

Hi there we have had a property just 2 years and all DD are set up for SUMA, communal fees, water and electric, we have just had message from our solicitor advising that the non resident tax is due by the end of the year and based on SUMA bill, it's actually not that much but we have been charged 40€ each person, me and my husband so €80 in total which is more than the tax itself. Can anyone advise if we can do our tax return ourselves next year, is this process easy, can a DD be set up for this or does a tax return have to be done manually every year, any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

I'd recommend you use:

https://spanishtaxforms.co.uk/spanish-property.html

They charge £34.95 per property (not per person) + £12 if you want them to submit the tax due on your behalf.

Once your first return has been submitted, you could do it yourself for subsequent years, following "Jim's Guide" on this forum.

We have recently taken Jim’s advice and used Angar who were exceptionally efficient

All was done by email/online for a cost of 20€ per person (incl IVA) and then the tax.

Other quotes we had were 100€ plus IVA - so Angar had the whole lot done for less than just the service charge of others - definitely recommend

If 2% is applicable it's €145.

If 1.1% is applicable it's €80.

Hi Jim many thanks well it's 1.1%, but we've been quoted €42.96 and then €80 for (€40pp)

Just used Angar for the second year running. Exceptional service, highly efficient and only 20 euros per person (calculation and payment). I transferred the payment into Angar's nominated bank account via Revolut (fee free) and got the receipts via email within 24 hours. If only everyone was so efficient!
