Cycling
Moving out Mid September/early October. Husband is a keen cyclist & used to race at club level. Are there any cycling clubs locally?
Thanks in advance.

Grupo La Zenia meet just down the road at Los Dolces at least 3 times a week at 10 am. The main ride is a Sunday and there is often a big turn out and they will split into 4 groups. The first two groups usually do a 100k cycle and the 3rd and 4th perhaps 60k. The first group can average something like 20-24 mph depending on the wind , turn out and terrain. The 4th group would be a much more recreational pace and social ride. All groups usually stop for a coffee around halfway and seem to know the good cafes to stop at. Many different nationalities cycle, but I didn’t Often see Brits with the fast group the 5 Sundays I rode with them. There were a couple in the second group.
We have an apartment in Villamartin and we plan to come out in November for 5 months if he fancies going for a cycle. There are some lovely routes, especially around the Lake and much more enjoyable than most parts of the UK.

Hi Karen,
They have a Facebook page as well, but that seems well out of date. If the hubby has a Strava account, lots of them post their rides on there.

Hi. Afraid not he’s old school. Been cycling from the age of 9, now 52. Still owns his 1983 road bike, amongst others, some of which I keep saying is are museum pieces.
