Hello

Apart from the main golf courses in the villamartin area, is there any courses near by for the casual player with no handicap, or even any putting greens, were you can hire the equipment.

Hi Colin,

A good few courses outwith Villamartin

Las Ramblas and Campomar which are fairly close to each other just down from the La Fuente plaza!

There is a golf shop across from that Plaza but one inside that I would recommend. The Stray Sod golf shop above the self named Irish bar.

They will book the course for you and have fairly new clubs for hire. I think 15/20€ for a round was the charge. They also have a gold society, so might be able to set you up with a golfing partner for a round.

I recently played Las Colinas and La Finca nearby which would be a challenge for the occasional golfer but Vistabella which is only 10/15 mins up from San Miguel would be a great course to play. An excellent wee course that has 11 holes. A lot of the holes are a driver and short iron that was in good condition and a joy to play.

Think an afternoon round was only about 30€. Booking with the shop or online will give 3.30 tee off as latest but if you drive up, you can book a round after that time which would be useful if it's too hot on the afternoon!

Hope this helps.

Paul
