Hi all

Our Iberdola electric bills are averaging out at €73 per month but we are only using our 3 bed townhouse in El Galan as a holiday home. Seems very high to me, any advice appreciated

Thaks

Does seem high. I have the same house type as you my bills are never that high.

Iberdola bills every 2 months. The most I have paid was in the summer and I was there quite a lot. It was 80e. For periods when I am only there 1 weekend in a 2mth billing period it's about 45€.

Assuming you turn your power off when your not there.

Your bill is made up of 3 component

Standing charge daily based on your tarriff.

Consumo.What you use..

Then a small charge for equipment rental and vat

Thanks for your reply

We took ownership in June 2016. The only month we haven't had a bill was fro October.

We have bern here 3 times, June, end September/October and now in December.  We turn off all electrics and our monthly tariff is 5.75. We were not here at all in November but have a usage charge

Regards

If the 5.75 is the Potential facturada figure that represents your tarriff

If so it is too high your tarriff should be 3.5kw this is ample for a house your size.

This could be the reason your bill is high. The bills can be quite deceiving if your bill period  overlaps two months it will allocate the consumption over the two mths making it look like you have used electric when you've not been there.

If we change ours down to 3 from 5 and find it isnt enough is it easy to go back up?  Is there a cost?

We have a holiday home and will be there for December... Generally dont use much..

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you'd be charged for going back up. Also, if you haven't got a boletin certifying that the wiring will stand 5.75 Kw, then you'd probably have to pay for that as well.

Have a look through the other threads and see what other people in your situation have said.
