Is it worth bringing over from uk BBQ bottle gas, if so can I replace in Spain

Bring  gas  bottle   to Spain  might  be  considered  explosive  materials  at  Borders   control,  but  then  again  how do Campers van travel,   but  I  myself  would  not  risk  it, as  Connection   maybe completely  different 

What do you want it for? 

To my knowledge you can’t exchange it once empty, plus the connections are different.

we have a camper van and know quite well the challenges faced obtaining bottled gas across borders.

just take out a new gas contract when you arrive and use that going fwd,

You don't need a contract, there are plenty of places where you can pick up an empty bottle for around €10 and that you can instantly exchange for a full one at most any petrol station, current regulated price is I think around €16.

Although they shouldn't some will sell you a bottle outright if you say it's for a BBQ.

Sell the bottle there and buy one here. 

A new adapter and tube is only a few euros,much easier. 

No don’t even try ! You can get them over here for a few euros and safer!

Just to confirm what the others have said, don't even bother, it's just not worth the hassle. The UK bottles are different, have different offtake fittings, work at different pressures and there is no chance of getting it filled.

If you do bring the BBQ, but don't bother, just buy yourself a nice shiny new one when you get here, you can easily by a new regulator and pipe here, they are quite inexpensive.
