Property Tax Revalued.
Last week we received a demand from Suma labelled "Property tax for urban assets" to be paid by 07/08/2017, ie.in 2wks, for 978.72€. I had thought this was a mistake as we pay by bank DD, but no, it was because they had updated the valuation, which apparrantly they do periodically and they,re entitled to claim 4yrs of the increase.! I originally put this in my locations forum and Jim Taylor was the only person who replied who had experienced this situation and like him my IBI has tripled. Other replies were thankful to know this could happen, but as my location is on the Villena forum (please read full story there for more info) I wasnt sure this information was being read by that many people.I would like to hear if anyone else has experienced similar and especially as we have added extra areas which have been deemed illegal(not our fault) and therefore have no cadastral value as they are not on the deeds, they have added them to the revaluation. We cant be the only 2 people in Costa Blanca who have experienced this. This years now triple last yrs payment is seperate and due in September. So instead of 130€ approx altogether this year we now have to pay 1330€ in total, a very big Ouch!!.
