Coming over on the 24th and want to buy a low cost small car under 2000€. Anything like fiat panda, fiesta etc as have short length in garage due to oil tank for heating.Be there for 3 mnths with own car so can wait to suit your needs, but must get one. Sick of car hire and we do very low mileage, will travel upto 100kms.

Regards

Pauline

You need to bear in mind that if you are buying privately you would be required to pay around 300-350 € to register the change of ownership. I would suggest you check out dealerships in your area as they will include this in their price, service the car, have obtained an ITV ( MOT in the U.K. ), provide a warranty and help with getting suitable insurance.

Thankyou John, yes I know about the transfer, my friend recently pad 150€ for change of name and I do have the gestors contact no. I will be looking locally but with limited Spanish, just thought maybe someone returning to UK soon perhaps or someone upgrading theirs.

Thankyou for your info

Pauline.

Hi Paulsav,

I dont have any Information for you of used cars within your area but the issue of Change of Ownerrship expense could be lessened by maybe using it as a bargaining  tool with any potential vehicle seller. The Seller could be asked to go fifty/ fifty with you on the Registration fees.

Thanks Mick, sounds good, wanted 5 dr, pref diesel but assume its petrol, can I ask when Itv due and tax and what year? My budget is max 2000€ incl transfer costs so unsure this could come within that and do you have a gestor in mind to do that as being non residents have never had to use one for anything. Do non resident taxes all online.

Regards

Pauline.

Hi...I am a non resident too😁. I have a boat in Marina Alicante and the car is kept on the marina. I will get the ITV done so there will be a year on it. My phone is 00447780701039

The only thing you will need for transfer is NIE number.

I am only selling it cos I have my English car here now otherwise I would definitely keep it.

You can call me on whatsap anytime.

MICK

Ps I will get the exact year and take some pics for you but I go to UK tomorrow back on 25th March
