I did this post a while back but things transpired and I never followed up the leads. Apologies to those who replied.

I would like to find a flat screen computer monitor to work alongside my laptop to give a dual screen facility.  Useful if you are working with a document and need to give comments at the same time.

I think something about 17 inches or a little over would do the job. Please let me know what you have.

I don't mind travelling a bit, say 40-50km from Villena/Sax. ie down to the coast.

Before splashing out any wonga I'd check that your laptop actually supports dual displays, most will do mirroring but that's a different thing altogether.

Hi V,

Antonio left IVS some months ago and I lost track of him. Got no replies to my emails. I was in the secundo mano a couple of weeks ago and did not see one, but I'll go and have another look. Thanks.

I have already tried a second screen and it works OK.  Thanks, good suggestion and advice for others with the same idea.

Connect any normal TV with a HDMI cable to your laptop and that's it.

Nice thought, but my TV is far too old to have an HDMI socket!!

I'm still on SCARTs.  No plans to change it until it dies. It has a better picture than some flat screens I have seen.

It doesn't have a wooden case, but it still takes two to lift it.

SCART to HDMI adapter is a device that allows you to connect a SCART-enabled media source to a modern HDMI-only TV. Back in the day, SCART connectors were the standard, especially in Europe. It is a 21-pin connector that can carry analogue audio as well as video.
