My lovely dentist in Torrevieja is starting up again.  She has sent me an appointment for next week.

This means I will have to travel from Sax area to Torre.  I understand we move from Phase 0 to Phase 1 on Monday 11th.

The problem is I am not certain if I can travel that far even though start and finish points are both in Alicante Province.

Can someone who understands all this stuff please help, because I can't keep pace with it?

You may well be asking why I don't go locally. Quite simple really, I don't want to change dentists.

I understand that you travel in order to get medical treatment. This is a valid exemption from travel restrictions. Show your appointment if stopped.

Thanks for the replies.  Just to be safe I have cancelled the appointment for now.  When things become clearer it is easily rescheduled.

I don't have any proof to offer of said appointment as it was done on the phone and it's not an emergency.

I reckon you have done the right thing, even with an appointment I’m not sure the Guardia would class it as essential travelling over a hour, when there are dentists in Sax , imo of course 😎

If it was not essential really you shouldn't have been going at all.

Just because travel restrictions are (probably) being eased from Monday for the continued safety of all it would be wrong to regard it a reason to lower our defences any more than neccessary.

For my own part there are a couple of things I may venture a bit farther to buy but apart from that I don't expact to be making too many changes to my established routines.

You have no idea of the reason for my visit.  Please try not to make ridiculous comments without any information.  You are in no position to criticise what I may or may not do.  This  forum is not for personal attacks.

Seeing that you are so concerned for my well being I will tell you that I am suffering from necrosis resulting from chemo and radiotherapy.  Does that make you feel better?

Please consider yourself shut down.

I would invite you to read your own post and then consider if that response was really appropriate.

Your stated reason for going to Torrey instead of staying local was that you did not want to change dentists which is something I'm sure we can all identify with but fleshing it out now and then criticising me in hindsight for something I could have no clue about is hardly fair.

My reply was nothing other than correct and factual and certainly not an attack on you or anybody.

Well Movingon it seems that you are not going to be shut down that easily.  I shall reply to your last post and that will  be it.

I did not make the appointment which was for a regular check  following my illness.  I have missed some as a result of the lockdown and my dentist phoned to suggest a visit and at the time she thought there would not be a problem.

Some people I spoke to had other opinions, hence the post on here.

Your name seems to appear on every other post that I read so you are obviously glued to your computer all day.

What upset me was the tone of your reply like you were admonishing a child. All the other replies were polite and civil which is what I expect on here.

Your second paragraph implied that I was jumping the gun on the lockdown uplift and going to spread infection from here to Torre and back.  Highly unlikely as I live on my own and would have only seen the dentist who, due to the nature of her job, has very strict rules in place.  You cannot even enter the building till you are called.

Finally I will recommend (not order) that you please watch the tone of your replies.  Now you really are blocked

You are absolutely correct..A previously helpful & respectful forum now appears to be full of key board warriors who spend their day trawling any piece of news as regards lockdown with the sole intention of waiting for prey..By that I mean a person with other wise good intentions who maybe says something they dont like or has maybe got things slightly wrong....then BANG..they pounce as if to justify their being and try to belittle & foist their views and morals on us..I had one by the name of Monkey(says it all) who  B4 COVID only really posted about wine..now he is an international borders expert ffs..When he didn't like the fact that I proved can cross borders he started abusing me..Bearing in mind he knows nothing about me..he doesn't know that i get tested regularly for covid through my work etc..he only wanted to fulfil his days ambition of trying to catch out someone who has a life away from a computer screen who has maybe misinterpreted guidelines that only came through 3 seconds previously..Like I said ,sad a previously helpful forum has come to this
