Hi recently hired cars for a total of 10 weeks. Several experiences , Some things to watch out for are .. Some charge you for a full tank of fuel plus a refilling charge of 35 euro s, which was not the real refilling figure as one car I hired only took 40 euros to fill from empty ,but on picking up the cat , I was charged 87 euro ... That by my calculation is a massive 47 euro for someone sticking a petrol hose in and spending a whole two minutes filling it ??? They do not offer the choice of bringing the car back full , and if you have fuel left in the tank they are not obliged to refund you the difference ? Most hire companies will put a " hold " on your credit card of between 400 and 1000 euro in case of accident ., and when you return the car in good condition , they release the hold and your money is automatically retuned to your account . Here s the rub , One company in particular in particular is seriously bad . They don't just put a hold on your account , they actually take 950 euro OUT of your account , and return the money a COLOSSAL 28 WORKING days after you return the car .. I am waiting at the moment for that return ...Be warned people that is a serious amount of interest out of your account and could potentially cost you a lot of inconvenience if you need that money on your card for emergencies ..
