I have a land rover discovery and it failed test on lights. I did the switch at the back of lights but they said still not right. Anyone know what i can do. D

Is it a RHD & the first ITV to put it onto Spanish plates? If so just flicking the switch on the back of the lights won't cut it, that just gives a flat beam, it doesn't kick it over to the correct side, you need to fit LHD lights.

If it's another problem we need more details, what is the exact problem?

Yes RHD and first ITV.  So we have to buy new headlights. Already cost €220 ITV  and €90something for brakes. D

Will you have to pay the import duty once you have it registered or have you been able to get it through as personal property?

It all adds up to a silly amount once done.

Who's told you to have them re-aligned?

Just do a google search for car repairs in your area, re-aligning lights is a simple thing any garage should be able to do in a couple of minutes.

I don't think the lights can be realigned.  The are designed to dip to the left for UK and to the right for Spain that cannot be changed.

When I imported.my Jeep I went to the wreckers and got some off a LHD car.

Try the one on the edge of Sax near the A31 turnoff or the one down the road to Biar.  They are connected with other yards and can put out a request for you if they don't have what you want.

When going for an ITV don't use the one near Santa Eulalia (Salida191) they are far too pedantic as it's a training centre. Go over to Yecla.

The problem is that you can only return to the original ITV centre here when the car has failed. You can apply to have the centre changed in some circumstances, for example you've jst bought the car and live in another area.
