Named and Shamed

I’m a bit puzzled. I’ve just checked out the post, by Gary Hemlin, on Named and Shamed CB. The only responses that I can see appear to be very supportive of what he’s saying.🤪🥂

Yes Ange but his comments initially were about the abuse the posters were getting on that group when they were sharing their experiences. It epitomised exactly what Alex was trying to avoid. Perhaps you may need to read it again?

Thanks, Paulsav, but I think you're preaching to the converted :o)  I joined Costa Blanca Named & Shamed and lasted about 5 days - the abuse on it was awful!  I don't think Facebook is actually a helpful format for that type of site either.  In terms of this forum, I think the ones who wanted a Name & Shame section have left for pastures new.  Personally, I absolutely support Alex's approach on this.

I for one am hoping that the recent issues, regarding naming and shaming, have been put well and truly to bed. There was much unpleasantness, with some members clamouring for the opportunity to name and shame

I’m still puzzled why it seemed so important, particularly when there is a dedicated Facebook site where, as acknowledged by Kimmy and paulsav, people can go to knock, verbally, the proverbial out of each other.

Lots of members now, having been absent for a while, appear to be confident to both post and respond. Onwards and upwards for CBF I think

Yes, I think those calling for a "name and shame" on this forum intentionally wanted this forum to descend into chaos, arguments and abuse, as paulsav has showed us above with details on the chaos on the Facebook name and shame group. 

Those who asked for a name and shame section on this forum seemed to thrive on that sort of negative atmosphere. It is much better to have a friendly forum, and those that want to waste their time arguing or abusing people have the freedom to use Facebook or other forums!

I have personally never been on Facebook. The "FB" name of "Name & Shame" have a feel of ideas (positively or negatively) of others advertising their "wares". 

I would rather have factual information of those legally advertising on forums & consumers comparing their positive or negative services received & experiences. This, with evidence, may only aid the readers. Or not? 

I´m thinking of the such-like of "Which? a United Kingdom brand name that promotes informed consumer choice in the purchase of goods and services by testing products.

Perhaps a visit to Named and Shamed on Facebook is in order 😄. It’s not much like “Which”, I can assure you. I’d liken it more to kicking out time at some pubs, on a Saturday night, where all the customers have consumed about ten pints; a free for all
