Hi

We have purchased a property just outside Las Virtudes about 8km from Villena. We will be moving out to live in a couple of months but will be visiting often between now and then.

Although we love the spanish culture and language it would be great to meet up with some ex-pats for drinks etc and put the world to rights as our spanish will not be to that level for some time. I also understand that the sense of humour differs!!

We are in our mid 50s - somewhat normal - most would say - and enjoy life and meeting people. We do have a motorbike and enjoy touring but thats just part of what we are about.

It would be great to hear from you!

Mike and Liane

Hi we live in Las Virtudes and have done for 6 months so we are still in big learning curve .

If not already informed but directly in front of the church in Las Virtudes are a couple of bars , on a Sunday afternoon, usually from 4pm to ?? there is a large group of expats were we go for a beer and a natter, some go earlier but most go about 4 like we do. It's not all Brits as some Belgium and Swedish so all of various cultures but all up for a good laugh .

If talk about brexit your kicked out, if you talk about politics, your kicked out and for heaven's sake never ever ever say,  ohh ! it's too hot , I can't cope lol 😀

This is the  nice place to start meeting expats from same village or outskirts.

Look forward to seeing you

Dean and Michelle

Hi Mike and Liane, pleased to hear you guys are moving to Spain. We have been out for 10 months and live in a town called Biar. We are motorcycle fans! I’m attempting to get my bike Spanish registered....I’ll keep you posted. Their is a kart racing track in Villena, always bikers coming and going for a coffee. All being well we’ll catch you there soon. Best regards, and a safe move, Tim

Hi Mike and liane, thats no problems at all, we are just going out today with some freinds as it is one of there birthday's plus as it's Michelle's birthday on 23 may and not decided yet what day we are going out so can I let you know tomorrow.

Wednesday would not have been good for us either so that's ok , are you staying in your new house ?? I take it you have hire car or your own , do you know Villena at all as plenty of  areas to eat drink , best around 1pm before shops start to close or can do later in afternoon after siesta which is a good time as you start to savour the Spanish way of life. We can pick you up so to get your barings in town if not used to it .

Will let you know tomorrow if that's okay, hope all is going well with you and your move as we havebeen there and understand its stressful.

See you soon

Regards Dean and Michelle

Hi Mike and Liane. W3 have also just purchased a Finca in Las Vertudes and plan to move over in September. We currently live in Torquay, South Devon,  and are looking at the best way to get all our belongings over to.our new home. It would be great to meet up around that time. We are lucky that we have already met some of the British couples who already live there and look forward to living in an area of mixed nationalities and being part of the community.

Hi both, would be great to meet up once we have moved over early October, just reading your other posts we used Britannia removals they were brilliant, cost us £5k but you get what you pay for, they loaded and unloaded, kept us informed of there arrival time, everything was wrapped, protected and insured, would highly recommend. We also used European movers for a half load in a van earlier last month, Mark was also excellent and you can find him on Facebook.

Who have you met in Las Virtudes? Is your proprty in the village or like ours out in the campo?

Mike and Liane
