Listen, sharing an experience and getting advice, having a moan or venting to help the frustration is normal and can be healthy. However judging an entire nation and brand them is called racism and I despise racism.

Spanish take a more relaxed attitude towards things, nothing wrong with that, probably why they live longer than us. That doesn't make them bad people. I have no intention of getting into a racism spat with you.  I have told you of my opinion and that is that so get used to it.  It is my opinion so don't try to bring racism into it.  I am entitled to that whatever YOU might think.  I suppose you are one of those wokerati trying  to stop people having any opinion on anything.

No opinion is opinion, people have them and people don't agree, that's life. I see your casting judgement again, this time about me. I'm the complete opposite to woke. I also don't judge, so far you have given more than one example that you do, examples

1 - The Spainish (in which case go back to the UK)

2 - Me

That's it, I'm stopping incoming emails.  You are spoiling the forum.    It is not about criticising fellow posters who have a different opinion to yours.

I did mention that I would go back to the UK if it was possible.  Please read what I wrote once more.

Correct its not about criticising people so stop doing it. I read what you said perfectly and it your racism isn't an opinion, its also what spoils this forum.

I bought a hot water bolier 3 years ago after i replaced a gas hot water heater as in winter so fed up of it cutting out half way through a shower , i bought a boiler from Bricodepot , it was not the cheapest model nor the most expensive but just average costs , i installed it and for 3 months wo...

...rked great , then i had several days of electric tripping , i unplugged every electrical unit and it was the boiler at fault , i googled and found that this unfortunate model had a history accross europe with heater element problems , it was made by Bosch but it traded under different name , anyway i contacted Bricodepot and as we didn't know great deal of spanish then, it was difficult and frustrating and i was getting no were, fortunately our Spanish freind came to our house next day , we just explained the problem and she kindly said she would sort out , it took her 6 phone calls to different departments, call centres ect and she said herself how extremely difficult it had been and we would most probably never have been able to resolve and how embarrassed she was at the situation. I had in fact throgh searches on google actually found a service agent in Villena for these models , i asked our freind if she would come with me to there shop which she duly did , it was 4.30pm Friday afternoon when they reopened, we went in and showed photos of boiler and seriel number, Bricodepot receipt , she said it wanted engineer to repair, now my Spanish wasn't any good then and even now i dont think i could have ever followed what thay said but for 5 minutes its was a big argument and as i am sure you know some Spanish ladies can have a loud voice but our freind her voice was raised by some considerable decibels , apparently the engineer was saying he will go monday or tuesday but our freind said no , go now , reluctantly he did and followed me home but before this we stopped of at a shop and he came out with a new boiler all in box ext so knew it was not a second hand or service repair , i showed him faulty boiler , he just took of the cover were electrics are , sniffed it and went ahhhh problema , he then removed old boiler and replaced with brand new , in fact was a better one than i had , our freind stood guard over him all the time to make sure he did good job , he said if anymore problems please call him straight away and was really helpfull in the end , so after 3 years had no problems with replacement, so yes it can be a utter nightmare if trying to replace but if you have any Spanish freinds who can help , please do so you'll be amazed at what nationals can do as aposed to expats of any country .

😂well done.

Hi Janice,

I wish you luck.  Hopefully you can get a resolution.  However I doubt you will get your money back.  That just doesn't seem to happen here.  Keep us posted

Mike

Well, Mike,

The Ferri technician came and watched me put the pool cleaning robot into the water, then take it out again. We never connected it to the electricity but he could see where my difficulty was.

He spoke to his ‘boss’ on the phone while he was still poolside, and it was suggested I got a different type of pool floor cleaner.

I took the robot back this morning, and they gave me a full refund!!!

No pressure to choose another type, just a straightforward refund.

I am so pleased, as you can imagine.

This is why I always use this shop, whether for furniture, electrical appliances, paint and garden tools. Quality and good customer service.

Re service: we bought ‘heavy goods’ from a local well known builder’s merchant on Saturday, for which we paid in full at the time. Delivery was promised between roughly 10 and 12 yesterday. At 5.30 I rang, having waited all day. Profuse apologies, they did not have the goods on site. But if I didn’t mind, they would deliver at 7 pm yesterday evening, despite this being outside their normal business hours. When the delivery arrived, and we live miles out in the campo where nobody not from the area can navigate, spot on 7 pm, it was obvious that they had had to send transport to the huge goods depot some good few miles away specifically to collect what we wanted.

In UK from experience, we would have had to wait several days until they had a load large enough to warrant the journey. That is what I call good service, with no problems.

We have also had excellent service from a local heating firm, which had similar problems of supply after taking our deposit. Upon my mild remonstrations , we were immediately offered a more expensive solution at the same price, the following week.

So Villas is correct, local is better.

I have shopped at Lidl for years and bought many middle aisle things as well as food and never had a problem.  A year ago I bought an inside/outside weather station in the middle aisle.

Sadly it went wrong and would not keep accurate time or date, so I took it back to the shop from which I bought it, having noted that on the box it said 3 year guarantee.  Well, you can just forget that....

...

Lidl will give you a 'devolution' in 30 days and a guarantee for 50 days AND THAT'S IT,  then you are on your own.  Not good.

I was told to contact the maker who supplied Lidl whose details were in the box.  After several weeks I'm still waiting.

I then wrote a 'snottagram' to Lidl Spain bemoaning their miserable customer service and I'm still waiting.  I think I shall be waiting for a long time. This is just so typical of Spain.  In the UK the Sale of Goods Act goes a long way to eliminating this nonsense as the retailer is obliged to sort out things like this.

So if you buy things in Lidl, forget any guarantee, it not worth the paper it's written on.   BE WARNED.

Sadly the guarantee is with maker not the store it’s the same everywhere you it’s not just Lidil

Spain? Much the same ( years ago UK) It's the same all over. Larger companies avoid the consumer protection law, by making it difficult. I am not "picking" on such-like, Carrefour, Lidel, Comet (uk) etc...etc. But, a local supplier in Spain, will give more after-sales service than ANY multination...

...al. Here in Spain, more local outlets exist. (IE local companies which still exist, they may not be here forever): edited.

Choose where u shop.      V

I bought a microwave from Milan ,it broke after only 4 weeks . We took it Bach and they waited it was up to LG . They sent it off and they said food had got it the works .WHAT. I had terrible arguments with them . They said I dad to pay them to drop my untended micro back . After threatening to name and shame . Never heard from them again . Just had to go out and buy another one . Milan was no help at all . Will never shop there again .
